GENERAL SPRING PARK MAINTENANCE
Spring maintenance is underway at all of our parks. This includes irrigation start up and repairs,
herbicide and fertilizer applications, sport field treatments, tree pruning, landscape bed management,
hedge trimming, deep cleaning all of our facilities and shelters, fencing repairs, horse arena harrowing
and so much more being done by our caring and talented Groundskeepers! If you see them out and
about feel free to say hello and let them know how your park experience is going.

PARKING LOT maintenance
All of the PRPD asphalt parking lots will undergo some form of treatment over the course of the spring
to prepare for another summer sun and winter snow season. Repairs will range from standard infrared
patching or crack sealing to more advance treatments. Tanglewood South & Fairmount Park will be have
full re-seal and re-striping which will result in temporary closures of those parking lots.

32ND STREET TO CLEAR CREEK TRAIL connection project
We continue to make progress on this trail connection. PRPD continues to work diligently with all
relevant private partners on easement locations and trail options for the route around the Molson Coors
reservoir (east & west) and through the Clear Creek Development (primarily north & south) and will
share updates on design, construction and funding partnerships as they become available.

APPLEWOOD PARK trail improvements
In addition to the work already completed by Parks & Facilities maintenance staff to replenish the
crusher fine surfacing throughout the Applewood Park Loop Trail we will also be working with a local
Eagle Scout project to upgrade the trail distance markers and install a new resting bench in the
northwest corner of the park. This work is anticipated to be completed by mid-Summer and will provide
a nice fresh look and feel for trail users.

CRESTVIEW PARK Kendrick Cottage improvements
In the coming months we will be working with a local contractor to replace all of the aging and outdated
exterior doors of the Kendrick Cottage. These upgrades will include sliding access doors to the outdoor
deck, new security hardware and a fresh and modern interior design update.

PROSPECT ARENA redesign and infrastructure upgrades
The Prospect Arena Park future re-design plans were approved by the PRPD Board of Directors last year.
This re-design planning project was a result of the master planning process conducted in 2019 and
includes a finalized design, construction drawings and documents, a cost estimate for upgrades, utility
work and a phasing plan. We intend to begin Phase 1 in 2022 with a focus on the installation of a new
water tap on the south side of the park for future irrigation.

SERENE CONSERVANCY development update
The planning and permitting process continues for the Serene Conservancy property. We continue to
work with Jefferson County Planning & Zoning and an independent engineering consultant to attain the
required flood plain and grading permits. Next steps will include finalizing erosion plans, construction
applications and storm water management plans. Once completed PRPD will work with our landscape
and design consultant to put the project out to bid and will share construction updates as they become
available throughout the summer and remainder of 2022.
