The PRPD Groundskeepers will be working hard transitioning our operations from the busy summer season into autumn. This annual maintenance includes winterizing all of the park restrooms, “blowing out” or clearing the sprinkler irrigation systems to prevent freezing, preparing for parking lot and trail snow and ice removal, and a final fertilizer application to get the grass ready to pop back nice and green in the spring. Additionally the staff will begin undertaking “off-season” projects such as fence repairs, facility improvements, landscape bed clear-outs, ball field maintenance and some large scale tree and brush overgrowth removal throughout the park system.
