In 2020 PRPD purchased approximately 6-acres of property located at 13095 W. 52nd Avenue with the intent of the future development of new park. Soon after the PRPD Board approved the naming of the park in honor of former Board Chair Flora Andrus. PRPD staff have spent the year working on remediating the home on the property to prepare it for demolition, clearing the property of debris and overgrowth and managing the open space surrounding the property. In the coming year(s) staff and the PRPD Board will work with contractors and PRPD residents to finalize property remediation, work through future property access constrictions and begin the lengthy process of planning for the use, design and layout of the exciting “prospect” that is, Flora Andrus Park!
