It is with profound regret that Prospect Recreation & Park District announces the passing of Flora Andrus. Flora served as a Board member of Prospect from the District’s inception in 1999 as a Title 32 Special District until her resignation in 2013. She was Chair of the Board for that entire time.
Funeral Services for Flora will be held on Monday, Jan. 27 at 11:00 am at Olinger Funeral Chapel of Peace at Crown Hill, 7777 W. 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, 80033.
During Flora’s thirteen years of leadership, over $6 million of capital improvements and infrastructure were made. That list of accomplishments includes the acquisition of the Serene Conservancy (formerly known as the Strippgen property), land acquisition and development of Kendrick Cottage and Crestview Park, Tanglewood Sports Park land acquisition and playground, ball field, and pavilion improvements, remodel of the District headquarters building, construction of a maintenance shop facility, and extensive irrigation improvements at all of our seven parks.
Flora will be greatly missed by all of us at Prospect!
